Anger to Motivation

Last night was a knife to the stomach. You can look at it as a 50/50 split on the Bruins losing out on Iggy. 50% blame to Chia for not making the deal good enough for Feaster to force Iginla and 50% goes to Iginla for saying Boston was a team he would go to then pulling the plug, fucking over the Bruins and us the dies hards that live and breathe hockey.
Now let’s move on. Something is wrong with this team and it is a bit more than losing third period leads. This team needs leadership and some big heavy veterans that will shut teams down. Look at it this way….last night and nights previous we have seen Bartkowski, Krug, Pandolfo, Johnson, Caron, a BRUTAL Ference and let’s face facts here Hamilton. All of these players excluding Hamilton whould not be on the ice. They are playing elite teams and jockying for position with half of an AHL team. This is why I am not too concerned, this will happen when relying on AHL talent.
The answer lies with Chia. I trust Chia and I know he is good at his job but the Iginla scenario shows one of two things. Either he is too cocky and got burnt or he was fooled by Feaster and Iginla shoved the dagger into the spoked B. None the less, Chia needs to act.
I know this team is build for the playoffs. I know they can go deep but they need veteran leadership and more size, grit and skill. Options seem limited but I do like one that has come up:

Boyle & Clowe….assuming Clowe is not hurt or over it, he would help the third line immensly and bring the grit and hitting that the Bruins are about. Boyle is a top 4 that the D also needs especially with Quaider done for the season.

Jagr….May be aging but put him with Lucic and Krejci and we will see finish unlike Horton. He may also be motivated to upset his former team?

Lucic Krejci Jagr
Marchand Bergeron Seguin
Clowe Pevs/Kells Horton
Merlot
Caron/Spooner

Chara Seidenberg
Boyle Boychuk
Hamilton ?

I am pissed off too today but all I do know is that Chia will make moves and hopefully they are the right ones. Look at the lineup that I have suggested and see the pain that each line can bring…..very deep team. Doesn’t matter if the Pens have Cindy or a bunch of french fucks or aging veterans, this should make the management and team motivated to hurt and destroy the Pens.
Think of this, what if Cindy gets a concussion, or Letang gets hurt?

Is Iggy the Answer?

V36W3WeBetween my last post and now, the Bruins have played uninspired hockey with uncharactersitic poor decision making. Luci and Horton look lost, Krejci is hurt, Marchand looks hurt and one step behind, the third is a joke even the defence is bad. Goaltending and beleive it or not, the fourth line are whats holding this team together. I don’t see benching Pevs (as much as it was needed) as the spark that they need. With that being said, this is still an elite team that is at the top of the league but when you watch the games it doesn’t look that way. I think Chia needs to make some serious decisions and work his ass off to get what this team needs:
-Savard replacement =Iginla?
-Help on the PP =Iginla?
-Third liner =Clowe, Soderberg, Morrow, maybe even give KOKO a look?

What say you?

Trade Deadline Looming & Soderberg

Alright Boys! Let’s get talking here….we have some intersting things happen in the last little while. Possibility of Soderberg coming over for the rest of the season and the playoffs, Bourque sent down, Caron up, lackluster 3rd line, Hudo stands tall, Krejci looking hurt and the third line finding its groove. From good to great things ahead?
My thoughts on a playoff team:

Lucic Krejci Iginla
Marchand Bergeron Seguin
Soderberg Kelly Horton
Clowe Campbell Paille
Thornton/Panolfo

Chara Streit
Seidenberg Hamilton
Boychuk McQuaid
Johnson/Krug

Bos: Iginla
Cal: Spooner, Ference, 1st +
Bos: Clowe, Freddy Hamilton
SJ: Caron, mid prospect, 2nd +
Bos: Streit
NYI: Bartkoski, Whatever else it takes
